Donetsk, Jun 8 - DAN. Ukrainian forces plan to stage a provocation by shelling Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka and accusing DPR of the attack, the Republic’s Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.
“Our intelligence has obtained trustworthy information that Kiev forces are planning a provocation by shelling Avdeyevka and causing civilian casualties,” Basurin said.
Ukrainian army plans to deliver simultaneous strikes from two directions using heavy artillery, tank guns and mortars. The “scenario” is to begin with Ukrainian gunmen’s attempt to provoke return fire from DPR forces.
“Ukrainian and foreign television channels camera crews have already arrived in Avdeyevka to record the strikes allegedly delivered from DPR positions. Some journalists were sent to the Butovskaya mine air shaft area which is under Ukrainian army control.”
In late May, DPR Operations Command reported that Ukraine was preparing to carry out provocative shelling of Avdeyevka and Krasnogorovka. DPR’s apprehensions came true at the time.*jk
