Donetsk, Feb 16 — DAN. Russian army units on the Donetsk axis have destroyed two dozen pieces of enemy hardware including two US-made multiple rocket launchers over the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.
“On the Donetsk axis, up to 135 Ukrainian servicemen, two American high mobility artillery rocket systems, three tanks, three armored combat vehicles, eight cars, two D-20 and D-30 howitzers, one ‘Gvozdika’ self-propelled howitzer and one American AN/TPQ-50 counterfire radar were destroyed in ‘South’ Group’s offensive operations and artillery fire, ” Konashenkov said.
An ammunition dump of the Ukrainian army’s 54th Mechanized Brigade was destroyed in the Verkhnekamenskoye area in the north of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Russian forces knocked out two enemy D-20 and D-30 howitzers, four armored vehicles and two cars outside Prechistovka and Ugledar, he said.
Fighting is ongoing on other axes. Air defense units shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter in the special operation zone, intercepted four projectiles and 20 drones and delivered strikes at three Ukrainian army control centers.
