Donetsk, Oct 22 - DAN. Kiev army fired mortars and small arms at three villages on the Donetsk and Mariupol axes on Tuesday evening, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported.
“The Leninskoye and Sakhanka villages in the south of the Republic and the Vasilyevka vilage outside Yasinovataya came under fire,” the report said. “Overall, 16 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds and 25 BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle cannon rounds were fired. The enemy also used high calibre small arms.”
The Vasilyevka pumping station is a key Donbass water supply facility servicing residents on both sides of the contact line. It often comes under Ukrainian forces fire.
Earlier reports said that Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire 18 times over the past 24 hours firing more than 200 rounds of ammunition at DPR areas and causing damage.*jk
