Donetsk, May 20 – DAN. The JCCC recorded nearly 5,000 ceasefire violations during Vladimir Zelensky's presidential term, said DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov.
"During his first year as Ukrainian president, the DPR Mission to the JCCC recorded almost 5,000 ceasefire violations, including 2,000 incidents involving tanks, 152 mm and 122 mm artillery, 120 mm and 82 mm mortars."
Kiev forces used banned weapons in 40 percent of incidents; 50,000 rounds were fired at residential areas, of those 2,000 were of 122 mm and 152 mm caliber.
"Ukrainian president had 365 days to adopt particular decisions and perform appropriate actions aimed at the conflict settlement, but all of his "innovative ideas" proved to be populist instead of leading to a long-awaited peace."
Zelensky was inaugurated on May 20, 2019 becoming Ukraine's sixth president. His electoral campaign focused on bringing peace to Donbass, nevertheless, the situation escalated as he came to power. *ot
