Donetsk, Sep 7 - DAN. Two DPR militiamen were killed in Ukrainian sniper fire over the past 24 hours, the Republic’s Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.
“I’m asking OSCE Special Monitoring Mission representative to pay attention to the fact that as a result of treacherous sniper fire at our positions two DPR militiamen defending the Republic were killed,” Basurin said.
According to the documents published by the Ukrainian army command, Ukrainian servicemen violating the ceasefire are liable to criminal prosecution. Furthermore, Ukrainian forces’ actions in this case should be viewed as premeditated murder committed by a group of persons under unit commander’s guidance; however, one cannot hope that Ukrainian side will administer justice, he said.
A new ceasefire accord came into effect in Donbass at 5 August midnight. It was coordinated by Contact Group participants in Minsk ahead of the new school year, and was dubbed ‘school ceasefire.’*jk
