Donetsk, Sep 8 - DAN. Two civilians were wounded as Ukrainian forces shelled Donetsk on Wednesday evening, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported.

“Donetsk’s Kievsky district came under mortar fire from Ukrainian armed formations,” the report said. “Two civilians were wounded in the strike.”

A 50-year-old woman suffered a shrapnel wound to the shoulder and small pelvis area and a 40-year-old man suffered a closed craniocerebral injury, soft tissue wounds to the head, shrapnel wounds to the leg, and wound shock.  The victims were hospitalised to the Republican Trauma Centre, the JCCC said.

The strike was delivered from the Ukraine-controlled Opytnoye village at 19:10. The enemy used 120mm mortars. The JCCC also recorded damage to the house at 62 Stratonavtov Street. No further details were immediately available.*jk
