Donetsk, Feb 14 - DAN. Three Ukrainian gunmen were killed in a mortar explosion as they were delivering fire at the frontline Gorlovka on Thursday morning, Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said.

“In the morning, 30th Brigade gunmen continued the shelling. Having organised a firing position in the Novoluganskoye residential area, they fired four 120mm mortar rounds,” Bezsonov said. “According to our information, the explosion occurred as they were firing the fifth round, supposedly due to double loading.”

At least three gunmen were killed; they had been firing at the Dolomitnoye township in northern Gorlovka, he added.

At the present time, tensions are mounting on the contact line in Donbass. On February 13 morning, Ukrainian forces shelled the Donetsk airport area and southern villages of the Donetsk People’s Republic with mortars. In the evening, the Ukrainian army delivered massive mortar strikes on three axes.

It continued to shell the DPR on February 14. In the morning, Kiev forces fired nearly 100 mortar rounds at the DPR territory in an hour. The shelling is ongoing. Donetsk outskirts and suburbs, the Yasinovataya and Gorlovka towns and villages in southern DPR are under fire.*jk
