Donetsk, Dec 15 — DAN. Russian army units have repelled six enemy attacks in the Artyomovsk and Dzerzhinsk sections of the frontline over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
“Task Force ‘South’ units, supported by artillery, have successfully repelled six attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 24th Mechanized Brigade, 5th Assault Brigade and 112th Territorial Defense Brigade in the Kleshcheyevka and Kirovo areas, ” the report said.
Kleshcheyevka is located south of Artyomovsk and Kirovo is in the suburbs of Dzerzhinsk, a town northwest of Gorlovka. Fighting has continued in these areas for long months. Russian forces also defeated Ukrainian army manpower and equipment in the areas of Kurdyumovka, Krasnoye, Maryinka and Andreeyevka which are located in the Artyomovsk, Donetsk and Volnovakha sectors of the frontline.
“The Ukrainian army losses amounted up to 265 servicemen killed or wounded, one tank, two armored fighting vehicles and three cars. In counterfire operations, Russian forces eliminated two Ukrainian 2S3 ‘Akatsiya’ 152mm self-propelled howitzers, three 2A65 ‘Msta-B’ 122mm howitzers, one D-30 122mm howitzer and three 120mm mortars, ” the Defense Ministry said.
Air defense systems shot down seven Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in Gorlovka and Maryinka.
Reports on Thursday said that two civilians were wounded in a Ukrainian drone attack on Donetsk’s Petrovsky district.*jk
