Donetsk, Nov17 – DAN. Ukrainian forces fired 297 artillery and mortar rounds at the outskirts of Donetsk, Yasinovataya, Dokuchayevsk and southern DPR villages on Wednesday evening and night, a DPR defence source told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“From 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Ukrainian side fired 297 122mm and 152 mm artillery and 82mm and 120mm mortar rounds at Trudovskiye and Aleksandrovka villages west of Donetsk, the airport area, Volvo Centre in northern Donetsk, Dokuchayevsk area, the industrial area outside Yasinovataya, Spartak village north of Donetsk, and Sakhanka, Kominternovo and Bezymennoye villages in DPR Novoazovskiy district,” the source said.
Aside from heavy artillery and mortars, Ukrainian army used infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and small arms, according to the source. The shelling damaged five houses in Dokuchayevsk and Kominternovo village, he said.
In the center of Sakhanka, the post office and a dining facility were damaged, Novoazovskiy district administration press service told DAN.
A residential house in Zaitsevo village north of Gorlovka burnt down, acting local administration head Ivan Prikhodko told DAN.
DPR Coal and Energy Ministry press service reported power outages in south DPR on Wednesday night.
