Donetsk, Oct 9 - DAN. Russia’s Investigative Committee (SK) has filed two criminal cases over civilian casualties caused by Ukrainian army strikes at the Staromikhailovka and Trudovskiye villages in the western outskirts of Donetsk.
“The Investigative Committee opened two more criminal cases under Article 356, Part 1 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code (abuse of civilians and use of means and methods in the armed conflict banned by an international treaty),” the SK said on its website on Tuesday.
On September 30 and October 6, a girl and a man were wounded in the Staromikhailovka and Trudovskiye villages in shelling by Ukrainian forces.
Investigations said that the suspects had violated the protocol on the ceasefire in southeaster Ukraine and the corresponding memorandum, as well as the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War and its 2nd Protocol Additional.
The SK is currently taking measures to establish all the circumstances of the above crimes and the persons who issued the orders to shell civilian facilities and implemented them.*jk
