Donetsk, Aug 28 — DAN. Russian servicemen on the Zaporozhye axis have knocked out a British AS-90 “Brave Heart” 155mm howitzer, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report on Special Military Operation results over the past 24 hours.
Russian forces have destroyed five western howitzers in various sectors of the frontline: M777, M109, FH-70 and Krab. Air defense units have downed three guided JDAM bombs and 27 unmanned aerial vehicles.
AS-90 “Brave Heart” is a 155mm self-propelled howitzer in service with the British army. The first prototype was built in 1986. Overall, some 200 AS-90 pieces have been produced. It has a firing range of some 30 kilometers and carries 48 projectiles.*jk
