Donetsk, Apr 19 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen supported by Russian armed forces have killed 67 Ukrainian gunmen and destroyed two enemy fire positions over the past 24 hours, DPR People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Tuesday.
“Over the past 24 hours our servicemen killed 67 Ukrainian nationalists and destroyed two armored personnel carriers, two 120mm mortar emplacements and two trucks,” Basurin said adding that the militia had captured a truck, an infantry fighting vehicle and a 2C1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation aimed at demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. On the same day, the DPR and LPR militias supported by Russian forces began to liberate the occupied areas of Donbass. As of now, 160 settlements have been liberated in the DPR. *jk
