Donetsk, May 5 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic and Russian forces now fully control the village of Troitskoye from which Ukrainian gunmen regularly shelled Gorlovka and its suburbs, the DPR People’s Militia reported on Thursday.
“The DPR Territorial Defense 1st Separate Mechanized Battalion supported by special task forces has mopped up the neo-Nazis and Kiev gunmen in the Troitskoye settlement,” the report said. “Enemy artillery continues to purposefully destroy the settlement firing from positions in Novosyolovka and New York (Novgorodskoye) which are still controlled by the neo-Nazis.”
During the liberation of Troitskoye, Russian coalition fighters tried to mostly use small arms in order to spare civil infrastructure.
Troitskoye is a small village southwest of Gorlovka on the approaches to the Ukraine-occupied settlement of Novgorodskoye (renamed to New York by Kiev authorities). The location was used to deliver regular strikes at Gorlovka and its suburbs such as Mikhailovka, Panteleimonovka and Ozeryanovka.*jk
