Donetsk, Jun 30 — DAN. The Sidorovo village south of Svyatogorsk has come under control of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR Territorial Defense Headquarters reported on Thursday.
“As of June 30, the group of LPR, DPR and Russian troops has liberated 240 settlements in the Republic, ” the HQ said. “Sidorovo has come under operational control.”
The operation in Donbass began on February 24, 2022.
Sidorovo, with a population of slightly more than 500 people borders the Svyatye Gory national nature park. Sidorovo Gorodische (fortified settlement) is an archaeological monument located next to the village. During excavation works, archaeologists found a Muslim burial site containing artefacts that dated back to the Khazar time between the 6th and 10th centuries.*jk
