Donetsk, Sep 15 — DAN. The settlement of Mayorsk north of Gorlovka has been liberated from Ukrainian invaders, the Donetsk People’s Republic Territorial Defense Headquarters said on Thursday.
“As of September 15, 2022, DPR and LPR troops, supported by the Russian army, have liberated Mayorsk, ” the HQ said.
Mayorsk is the third DPR settlement liberated in the past two days. On Wednesday, Russian coalition forces liberated the villages of Nikolayevka and Nikolayevka Vtoraya in the Artyomovsk district.
Mayorsk is a small settlement north of Gorlovka comprising several streets. It is located at the junction of the roads to Dzerzhinsk and Artyomovsk. A large 750kW electrical substation is located nearby. it feeds power to 3rd Elevation of the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal and the Mayorsk railway station. During the conflict, Ukrainian armed formations built heavily fortified defense lines in the area from which they shelled Gorlovka. *jk
