Donetsk, Jun 16 — DAN. Ukrainian gunmen have made ten attempts to break through Russian defenses in the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
“Kiev forces tried to advance five times in the areas of Rovnopol and Urozhainoye on the Vremevsky salient (in DPR southwest); all the attacks have been repelled, ” the report said. “Another five attacks have been repelled in the areas of Pervomaiskoye, Petrovskoye and Staromikhailovka outside Donetsk.”
In total, Russian servicemen knocked out two D-20 howitzers, two mortar batteries and 24 military vehicles, and eliminated hundreds of enemy gunmen on these axes.
Two Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were defeated in the Novoselovskoye settlement area in the northwest of the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
