Donetsk, Jun 12 — Russian army units have rebuffed five enemy attacks on the South Donetsk axis over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
Ukrainian forces tried to attack in the areas of Velikaya Novoselka, Pervomaisky and northern outskirts of Maryinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Levadnoye in the Zaporozhye region. During the offensive operations, Ukrainian forces lost two tanks, four infantry fighting vehicles, one D-30 howitzer, seven cars and more than 260 servicemen, the report said.
The Russian army used various types of armaments to inflect damage on manpower and equipment of 1st Separate Presidential Brigade (regarded as an elite unit in Ukraine), 128th Territorial Defense Brigade, 31st Mechanized Brigade and 1st Tank Brigade in the areas of Prechistovka, Velikaya Novoselka and Neskuchnoye, the Defense Ministry said.
Fighting is ongoing in other frontline areas.
Russia has been conducting the special military operation since February 24, 2022.*jk
