Donetsk, Mar 1 — DAN. Kiev’s attempt to attack the Crimean peninsula with a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles has been prevented, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

Air defense units shot down six UAVs and another four drones were knocked out by electronic countermeasures, Konashenkov said adding that there were no casualties or damage to ground infrastructure.

On top of that, Russia’s Air Force downed a Ukrainian Su-24 in a fight over Druzhkovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Air defense units also shot down enemy UAVs in the areas of Semyonovka in the Zaporozhye region, Kremennaya, Rubezhnoye and Krasnorechenskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Novoandreyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Liman Vtoroy in the Kharkov region.

Russia has been conducting the special military operation since February 24, 2022.*jk
