Donetsk, Aug 23 – DAN. The members of the Contact Group have harmonized and supported a comprehensive ceasefire agreement in effect from August 25 midnight, said the statement issued by the DPR’s top negotiator at Minsk talks Denis Pushilin.
"As the new academic year is coming, the Contact Group agreed upon and supported the comprehensive and durable ceasefire agreement in effect from August 25 midnight."
Pushilin said he hoped the new agreement would add to stabilization in the region and would allow transition to settling political issues.
"DPR is ready, on its part, to do everything possible to observe the adopted agreement. Children of Donbass, no matter on which side they live, should be able to go to school in peaceful atmosphere."
The previous agreement on the ceasefire was reached by the Contact Group on June 21, following a dozen of other agreements none of which had been properly observed, as Kiev forces flagrantly violated the silence regime immediately after its coming into force in the majority of cases. *ot
