Donetsk, Dec 23 – DAN. The members of the Contact Group agreed a ceasefire for New Year and Christmas during their meeting on Dec.21, DPR envoy Denis Pushilin confirmed.

"The Contact Group has agreed to enforce ceasefire for the period of New Year and Christmas holidays. We will see what will happen," he said.

Earlier Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in the Contact Group Martin Sajdik said that on Dec.21 the members of the Contact Group agreed to a ceasefire in Donbass. According to Sajdik, the ceasefire was to begin at midnight December 24th Kiev time (1 a.m. Moscow time).

DPR Command still considers the situation along the frontline as tense. Over the last week Kiev forces violated the ceasefire more than nine thousand times.

The previous ceasefire was in effect since September, 1st. *ot
