Donetsk, Jun 20 - DAN. A Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen was killed and two others were wounded in shelling by Ukrainian army units over the past 24 hours, DPR People’s Militia spokesman Daniil Bezsonov said on Thursday.
“One DPR defender was killed and another two were wounded as a result of shelling by Kiev forces,” Bezsonov said. “We express our condolences to the victim’s family.”
Ukrainian forces shelled 11 DPR settlements over the past 24 hours, he added. The enemy fired ten 122mm rounds, 51 mortar rounds (including 33 120mm mortar rounds), grenade launchers and small arms.
Tensions in Donbass are currently mounting. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 17 times firing 239 rounds of ammunition at DPR areas. On Thursday morning, the Ukrainian army delivered a massive strike at Donetsk using 122mm artillery. In the west of the city, ten houses, a coal mine, a hospital, a swimming pool, a car, gas pipes and a transmission line were damaged by shelling.*jk
