Donetsk, Apr 8 - DAN. A Tochka-U missile system, that is not in service in the Russian army or the Donbass Republics forces, was used to carry out a strike on Kramatorsk on Friday, the DPR territrial Defence HQ said.

"A missile hit the area of the Kramatorsk railway station, where people were evacuating. The debris of the Tochka-U missile fell in close proximity to the railway station.This outdated Soviet-era missile system is not in service in the Russian army or the Donbass Republics forces, but is in active use in the Ukrainian army," the report reads.

Kramatorsk residents say that the missile hit the station at 10:30 a.m. when a massive evacuation was ongoing.

Unconfirmed reports say that at least 20 people have been killed, dozens injured.

Tochka-U is a tactical missile system with effective range of 120 km. It can be equipped with conventional, nuclear or chemical warheads.

Kiev forces fired more than two dozen missiles of this kind on the DPR alone since the escalation of the conflict. *ot
