Donetsk, Sep 7 — DAN. The liberation of the Kodema village outside Gorlovka opened the opportunity to the coalition forces to press the advance to Artyomovsk from different axes, Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin said on Russia’s First Channel.

“Today, we can say that Kodema has been mopped up. It enables our coalition forces to develop the attack and liberate the Artyomovsk settlement from several axes, ” Pushilin said.

Ukrainian gunmen repeatedly counter-attacked Kodema, but all coalition forces rebuffed all their attacks, he added.

The Kodema village came under control of the coalition forces in late August 2022. The settlement is located between Gorlovka and Artyomovsk. The distance between the village and the outskirts of the district center is less than ten kilometers. Kodema is a strategically important point on the way to Artyomovsk; earlier, coalition forces liberated a small village of Vershina northeast of Kodema.*jk
