Donetsk, May 8 – DAN. The growing number of Ukrainian attacks on the DPR calls for additional measures to protect civilians, said DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov.
"Given the escalation, activation of the enemy's forces, the number of casualties tending to grow, the necessity to adopt additional measures has become even more acute; that includes diplomatic efforts and mobilization of People's Militia forces and resources," he said.
In the first eight days of May the Ukrainian forces fired more than 900 shells at the DPR killing one civilian and injuring nine others; 37 houses and infrastructural facilities have been damaged.
"The deterioration of the security situation has been reported since March 2020," Yakubov said.
The DPR is going to raise the issue of re-confirming the indefinite ceasefire at the nearest meeting of the Contact Group. *ot
