Donetsk, Nov 6 – DAN. Ukrainian army has violated the 'school ceasefire' almost 2,500 times since the new truce was announced on the contact line, the Republic's representative at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov said.
"Since the 'school ceasefire' was announced – on August 25 – Ukrainian Armed Forces have violated the ceasefire 2,494 times," he said.
A total of 9,719 mortar and artillery rounds and 463 MLRS rockets were expended, weighting 200-plus tons. Four civilians were killed, 17 injured, 100 households sustained damage.
Recently, security situation has deteriorated, as Kiev forces used rocket artillery to shell Donetsk and its neighborhood. Two civilians have been injured, at least 10 households and infrastructure damaged.
The ‘school ceasefire’ has been agreed to by the sides as the new academic year was to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It hasn’t proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized.*ot
