Donetsk, Aug 28 – DAN. Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire after eight days of silence regime, the DPR People's Militia said.
"Despite additional measures adopted by the Ukrainian side, its fighters keep violating them, trying to provoke our retaliatory fire," the statement reads.
The small arms fire on Donetsk was opened from the positions of 23 battalion 56 brigade at 6.55 p.m.
"The fire was random and did not threaten lives of service members and civilians. DPR units monitored the enemy's activity, and were observing the ceasefire."
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”. The package came into effect on July 27. *ot
