Donetsk, Mar 26 – DAN. Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire 17 times over the past week, said DPR People’s Militia deputy chief-of-staff Eduard Basurin.
“Ukrainian fighters violated the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire 17 times over the past week using 120 mm and 82 mm mortars. UAVs were used to adjust mortar fire,” he said.
The enemy targeted Spartak, Vesyoloye, Alexandrovka, Shakhta Gagarina and Shakhta 6/7, Petrovskoye, Novaya Tavria, Kominternovo and Sakhanka.
A civilian was killed by sniper fire on March 22 in the first incident involving civilian death since the introduction of the Additional Measures.
The Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at the Contact Group meeting on July 22 to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019, the latest in the series of more than 20 reconfirmation and announcements of the “silence regime”.
