Donetsk, Feb 17 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations shelled the Sakhanka village in the south of the Donetsk People’s Republic with 122mm artillery, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.

The strike was delivered from the Ukrainian-controlled Shirokino settlement at 21:03, the report said. Earlier in the day, Ukrainian armed formations used 122mm artillery to shell the Lugansk People’s Republic.

Ukraine last delivered strikes at DPR with 122mm guns in November 2021, the DPR Office said.

Tensions increased dramatically early on Thursday as Kiev forces shelled the DPR on all axes, using anti-tank missile systems, mortars, grenade launchers and small arms. The enemy also delivered strikes at the LPR using 122mm artillery.

Such massive strikes have not been delivered since April 2021. As a result of the strikes at the Republic, a civilian was wounded and two houses were damaged, the JCCC said. *jk
