Donetsk, Oct 4 – DAN. Ukrainian forces shelled DPR frontline areas with almost 250 rounds over the past 24 hours, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Wednesday.
“On Donetsk axis, Kiev forces fired 21 120mm mortar rounds and 78 82mm mortar rounds; on Mariupol axis, the enemy fired 28 artillery rounds of 122mm caliber, 24 120mm mortar rounds and 96 82mm mortar rounds ,” Basurin said.
Kiev forces also used infantry fighting vehicle cannons, armored personnel carriers guns, grenade launchers and small arms.
Overall, 48 violations of the ‘school ceasefire’ have been recorded.
Two buildings in Kominternovo of Novoazovskiy district have been damaged; a major water duct outside Yasinovataya has been targeted.
The ‘school ceasefire’ has been agreed to by the sides as the new academic year is to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It hasn’t proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized. *ot
