Donetsk, Mar 17 – DAN. Kiev forces shelled DPR territory with 5,842 rounds over the past week, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Friday.
“The enemy violated the ceasefire 529 times (according to the new counting principle), firing 5,842 rounds targeting the Republic’s territory,” Basurin said.
Please note, that according to the newly introduced violations counting method of DPR Command, a sequence of ceasefire violations committed within a certain period of time in a particular sector is registered as a single case of shelling (violation). Earlier the Operations Command reported the overall number of rounds fired.
Overall, 22 DPR settlements came under fire, including western and northern Donetsk, Elenovka, Gorlovka and Zaitsevo; Yasinovataya, Krutaya Balka, Spartak, Dokuchaevsk and Yasnoye; Kominternovo and Oktyabr which suffered the most intense shelling.
DPR intelligence revealed a number of enemy’s hardware on Donetsk axis: two batteries of self-propelled 122mm Gvozdika howitzers, a battery of 120mm mortars; on Gorlovka axis: up to a tank company, a battery of self-propelled 152mm Akatsiya howitzers and a battery of 120mm mortars; on Mariupol axis: two MLRS Grad, two batteries of self-propelled 122mm Gvozdika howitzers, a battery of self-propelled 152mm Akatsiya howitzers and two 120mm mortars batteries.
Earlier reports said that Ukrainian army fired 300 mortar and artillery rounds aiming at DPR territory since the evening.*ot
