Donetsk, Jun 2 - DAN. Nearly 50 houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged in Ukrainian army strikes in May, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Wednesday.
Kiev army units shelled DPR frontline areas 111 times last month using heavy armaments in some 50 percent of the ceasefire violations, the JCCC said. Overall, Ukrainian forces expended 1,200 rounds of ammunition (ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not taken into account).
The Ukrainian army strikes in May left two civilians and 11 militiamen dead and 21 militiamen wounded. Thirty-five houses, nine infrastructure facilities and two cars were damaged in enemy fire. The situation is similar in the neighbouring Lugansk People’s Republic.
The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights. Kiev does not observe the truce.*jk
