Donetsk, Jan 31 – DAN. Kiev forces made another attempt to take DPR positions in vicinity of Donetsk-Gorlovka road, which left 15 Kiev gunmen dead and 30 wounded, DPR Operations Command said on Tuesday.
“After preliminary bombardment, the enemy renewed the attempt to take the Donetsk-Gorlovka road under control, launching attacks in Avdeyevka industrial area with up to three platoons,” a DPR Command representative said.
“According to our information, the Ukrainian army and gunmen of Praviy Sector (Right Sector, a far-right Ukrainian nationalist political and paramilitary group of neofascist ideology) lost 15 killed and 30 wounded,” he said.
DPR militia had to return fire, but has stopped it by now.
The situation along the contact line in the Donetsk People’s Republic has deteriorated dramatically in the past few days. Kiev intensified shelling of DPR territory causing increased damage and civilian casualties, DPR Operations Command said.
A report on Monday said Kiev forces’ casualties in Donbass amounted to more than 150 in the past two days.*jk
