Donetsk, Aug 17 - DAN. Ukrainian army units delivered a massive grenade launcher strike at the Vesyoloye village area in the northern suburbs of Donetsk, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Tuesday.

The strike was delivered at 14:45 from the Ukrainian-controlled Peski settlement area. The enemy expended 29 AGS grenade launcher rounds and ten underbarrel grenade launcher rounds and also used small arms.

No casualties or damage were immediately reported.

The Ukrainian representatives at the JCCC ignored the  DPR's “attempts to use the coordination mechanism in order to quickly establish a local ceasefire after each fact of truce violation,” the DPR Office said.

Earlier reports said that Ukrainian armed formations fired grenade launchers at the Leninskoye village in the DPR south.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures has been in effect in Donbass since July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of all weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicle flights.*jk
