Donetsk, Jan 12 – DAN. Ukrainian forces fired 270 artillery and mortar rounds at western outskirts of Donetsk, Yasinovataya suburbs, Gorlovka and villages in DPR south in the past 24 hours, a Republic’s defence source told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“Ukrainian units fire intensity was rather high; from 6:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Ukrainian side fired 270 152mm and 122mm artillery rounds and 82mm and 120mm mortar rounds,” the source said.

Kiev forces targeted Trudovskiye, Aleksandrovka and Staromikhailovka villages west of Donetsk, Zaitsevo, Shakhta Gagarina and Mikhailovka villages outside Gorlovka, Krutaya Balka village and the industrial zone outside Yasinovataya, Spartak and Zabichevo villages in Yasinovatskiy district and Oktyabr and Leninskoye villages in Novoazovskiy district in DPR south.

A house burnt down in Yasinovataya outskirts as a result of Ukrainian forces shelling, acting Yasinovataya administration head Oleg Morgun said.

“A house in 27 Pobedy Street in Krutaya Balka village burnt down. I cannot tell precisely when it happened; there was nobody there at the time,” Morgun said in an updated report, adding that there were no casualties and that Krasny Partizan village had been without electricity for the third day running.

Earlier reports said a residential house was damaged by Ukrainian forces shelling in Trudovskiye village in Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district on Wednesday evening. Kiev forces shelling also caused power outage at the Donetsk water treatment plant. *jk
