Donetsk, Jan 16 — DAN. Ukrainian armed formations have fired more than 120 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic since the beginning of Monday causing civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.
The enemy opened fire at the DPR at 4:00 in the morning. Donetsk, Makeyevka, Yelenovka, Gorlovka and its outskirts are now under artillery fire. Ukrainian forces are using multiple rocket launchers and 155mm (NATO standard) and 122mm artillery. Strikes have been delivered at Avdeyevka, Dzerzhinsk, Kurakhovo, Ocheretino, Lastochkino, Yelizavetovka, Tonenkoye and Novgorodskoye.
At least four people were wounded as Ukrainian artillery shelled Donetsk’s Kalininsky district. A shopping mall was fully destroyed in the attack. Damage control teams are working at the scene as people might be trapped under debris. Damage was caused to two apartment buildings, a distillery building, a car maintenance center and a bus. Parts of the Voroshilovsky and Kievsky districts of Donetsk were left without electricity. The Lenin colliery administration building and a single-family home were damaged in the neighboring Makeyevka.*jk
