Donetsk, Feb 18 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire eight times over the past 24 hours firing nearly 40 rounds of ammunition at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory,  the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination reported on Tuesday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire eight times expending 36 rounds of ammunition,” the report said.

Strikes were delivered at the areas of the Volvo Centre and the Zhabichevo settlement (Donetsk axis), the Golmovskiy and Gagarin Colliery settlements (Gorlovka axis), and the Yasnoye settlement and the Krasnoarmeiskoye, Kominternovo and Sakhanka villages (Mariupol axis), the JCCC said.

The enemy used infantry fighting vehicle cannons, grenade launchers and high calibre small arms. The amount of expended ammunition of calibre up to 12.7mm is not added to overall daily statistics.

A high voltage transmission line in the Yasnoye settlement outside Dokuchayevsk was damaged in shelling by Ukrainian forces. The DPR Coal and Energy ministry said that the damage to a 6 kW high voltage transmission line had caused the shutdown of five electrical substation. Five hundred and twenty customers, a kindergarten, a pumping station and a boiler house were left without electricity.

In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire on the contact line with the DPR six times.*jk
