Donetsk, Oct 13 - DAN. Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire twice over the past 24 hours, the Donetsk People’s Republic Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Tuesday.

“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire twice expending ten rounds of ammunition,” the report said.

The Yakovlevka village outside Yasinovataya on the Donetsk axis came under fire. The enemy used 82mm mortars, the JCCC said.

Reports on Monday said that Ukrainian forces fired on a team of workers as they were repairing railway lines near Yasinovataya. On top of that, Ukrainian armed formations carried out engineer works at their positions in the Kiev-controlled Peski settlement area in violation of the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire in Donbass.

In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire once.

The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of any weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights. The armistice on the contact line was nearly fully observed in the first weeks but later on the number of violations by Ukrainian forces began to grow again.*jk
