Donetsk, Oct 6 - DAN. Ukrainian army units have opened fire at the Donetsk People’s Republic territory on the Mariupol axis twice over the past 24 hours, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Tuesday.
“Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire twice expending nine rounds of ammunition,” the report said.
The Leninskoye village area in southern DPR came under grenade launcher fire, the JCCC said.
In the previous reporting period, Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire three times.
The package of tighter ceasefire control measures came into force in Donbass on July 27, 2020. The document bans the use of any weapons, deployment of hardware, special operations, engineer works and unmanned aerial vehicles flights. The accords on additional ceasefire control measures considerably eased tensions in the region. The armistice on the contact line was nearly fully observed in the first weeks but in the recent days the number of violations has begun to grow again.*jk
