Donetsk, Apr 30 - DAN. Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire on the contact line with Donetsk People’s Republic forces 370 times in April, the DPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on Thursday.
“In April 2020, strikes at DPR settlements were recorded in 377 ceasefire violations; heavy weapons banned by the Minsk Agreements were used 164 times,” the report said
"One civilian was killed and another two were wounded in shelling by Ukrainian forces, and 118 houses and 20 infrastructure facilities were damaged in the designated period," the JCCC said. “Nearly 70 percent of strikes were delivered on the Donetsk axis, and the number of houses or infrastructure facilities damaged in April is comparable to the infrastructure damage caused in the first three months of the year.”
A comparative analysis shows that ceasefire violations by Ukraine have increased by 20 percent per month, on the average, since the first quarter of 2020, while the amount of expended ammunition increased by 87.7 percent. The enemy’s mounting aggression amid the coronavirus epidemic causes a serious concern,” the JCCC said.
Earlier reports on Thursday said that Ukrainian armed formations violated the ceasefire 11 times over the past 24 hours firing more than 120 rounds of ammunition at DPR areas.*jk
