Donetsk, May 17 - DAN. Russian coalition forces have liberated the Drobyshevo settlement in the north of the Donetsk People’s Republic from Ukrainian invaders, DPR People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Tuesday.
“DPR servicemen jointly with Russian armed forces continue to liberate settlements in our Republic from Ukrainian invaders; Drobyshevo has been liberated,” Basurin said.
Founded in the late 17th century, Drobyshevo is a township in the Limansky district. The Podpesochnoye landscape reserve is located two kilometers southwest of the edge of the settlement. The Forpostnaya railway station nearby is on the route Kharkov –Svyatogorsk-Krasny Liman.
Drobyshevo residents heroically fought the Nazis during World War II. Some 1,000 Soviet citizens joined the army; half of them were killed in battlefields. Guerilla movement was active in the district during the Nazi occupation.*jk
