Donetsk, Mar 11 – DAN. DPR People's Militia has established control over Volnovakha in the Republic's south, DPR Defence's deputy chief of staff Eduard Basurin said.
"DPR engineer units have embarked on demining operations at important social objects, mopping-up activities are winding up. Civilians are receiving humanitarian and professional medical assistance," he said.
DPR units have captured a number of Ukrainian arms and equipment, such as IFVs, a tank, NLAW and JAVELIN systems.
Nine Ukrainian service members have defected to the DPR.
Volnovakha is home to 21.5 thousand people located 35 km south-west of Donetsk. It is a key railway and motor transport hub on the way to Mariupol. *ot
