Donetsk, Sep 6 – DAN. Ukrainian forces violated the 'school ceasefire' more than 40 times over the past 24 hours, said DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin.
"On the eve of the Minsk meetings the security situation on the front line deteriorated dramatically. Forty-one violations were recorded perpetrated by Ukrainian side."
Overall, 76 mortar rounds were fired.
On Donetsk axis, the enemy fired 44 120mm mortar rounds and 24 82mm mortar rounds.
On Mariupol axis, the enemy fired three 120mm and five 82mm mortar rounds.”
Basurin said that over the previous day violations report showed 30 cases, about 1,5 times lower than today's figure.
The ‘school ceasefire’ has been agreed to by the sides as the new academic year is to begin in Donbass on September 1. It came into force at midnight August 25. It hasn’t proved to be durable, thought in the first hours the security situation along the contact line stabilized.*ot
