Donetsk, Jul 20 - DAN. DPR Prosecutor General’s Office opened criminal proceedings against the Ukrainian army brigade commander who had issued the order to deliver strikes at western outskirts of Donetsk on 17 July, in which a woman was killed.

“The investigative department of DPR Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case against Ukrainian army 92nd separated motorized infantry brigade commander Vladimir Kokorev,” PGO press service told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

It has been ascertained that on 17 July 2017, Kokorev ordered servicemen of the brigade under his command to shell Staromikhailovka village in western Donetsk’s Kievskiy district.

The experts who worked at the scene of the tragedy said the Ukrainian army had used standard NATO mortar rounds. Shell fragments were sent for additional expert examination.

On 17 July, Ukrainian forces delivered a massive strike at Staromikhailovka village in western Donetsk, killing a woman and injuring two men and damaging housing.*jk
