Donetsk, Nov 24 – DAN. DPR Prosecutor General’s Office  is investigating 344 criminal cases of DPR territory shelling by Ukrainian forces, Investigation Department head Roman Belous told Donetsk News Agency.

“DPR PGO Department for Investigation into crimes against peace and security of the humankind is conducting 334 criminal probes into acts of terror, carried out by Ukrainian forces and other Ukrainian armed groups by means of shelling,” Belous said.

“Most cases were opened under DPR Criminal Code Article 229 (“act of terror”) and Article 423 (planning, preparing, unleashing or waging an invasive war”).

“Investigators have already reviewed 8,500 episodes of civilian deaths and injuries; each will make a criminal case,” he added.

According to the criminal cases handled by DPR PGO, 658 DPR residents are considered to have been killed and another 976 injured.  More evidence is being gathered.

Earlier reports said DPR PGO Investigation Department had set up a department to probe Ukrainian army’s war crimes in Donbass.
