Donetsk, Feb 26 - DAN. A Donetsk People’s Republic militiaman was killed by Ukrainian forces fire as he was helping civilians in the southern Kominternovo settlement to repair a damaged house, the DPR People’s Militia said on Tuesday.
“Today, a DPR militiaman was killed by mortar fire as he was helping local residents after a strike at Kominternovo,” the report said.
The militiaman was helping to repair the roof of a house damaged by a Ukrainian army strike, the DPR People’s Militia said. At that time, Kiev forces began to shell the settlement with various types of weapons, including 120mm mortars. The militiaman did not have enough time to hide in a shelter.
“These fascists not only destroy peaceful settlements purposefully, they also kill people who help rebuild them. Nothing stops the Ukrainian criminals who regularly violate the Minsk Agreements,” the People’s Militia said. “We urge OSCE SMM representatives to make Ukraine honour its ceasefire commitments.”
Earlier reports said that Ukrainian army units violated the ceasefire 19 times over the past 24 hours firing nearly 130 rounds at the DPR.*jk*pp
