Donetsk, Apr 21 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic militiamen supported by Russian armed forces have killed 57 Ukrainian gunmen over the past 24 hours, DPR People’s Militia deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Thursday.
“DPR servicemen jointly with Russian forces continue to liberate settlements in our Republic from Ukrainian invaders,” Basurin said. “Over the past 24 hours, our servicemen killed 57 Ukrainian nationalists and destroyed one 120mm mortar emplacement, one tank, one infantry fighting vehicle and two armored personnel carriers.”
DPR militiamen captured one IFV and two APCs, he added.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation aimed at demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. On the same day, the DPR and LPR militias supported by Russian forces began to liberate the occupied areas of Donbass. As of now, 167 settlements have been liberated in the DPR. *jk
