Donetsk, Jan 23 – DAN. Kiev forces shelled DPR territory almost one thousand times over the past 24 hours, DPR Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin said on Monday.

“The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic remains tense. Ukrainian terrorists violated the ceasefire 991 times over the past 24 hours,” Basurin said.

“The enemy fired 33 artillery rounds of 152mm and 122mm caliber; 10 tank gun rounds; 200 mortar rounds and 722 grenade launcher rounds at DPR territory, and also used infantry fighting vehicle cannons and small arms,” he said.

Dokuchayevsk, Aleksandrovka and Trudovskiye west of Donetsk, Dolomitnoye and Zaitsevo north of Gorlovka; Yasinovataya and nearby Krutaya Balka, Spartak and Veseloye; Sakhanka, Leninskoye, Bezymennoye and Kominternovo southern villages came under fire.

In Artemovsk (Kiev-occupied and renamed to Bakhmut) and in Mariupol areas DPR intelligence spotted MLRS and tanks.

"Two tanks are located in Zamozhnoye (Chermalyk, 2.5km from the contact line); 18 MLRS Grad are spotted in Artemovsk (20 km from the contact line)."

DPR intelligence reports Kiev’s regular deployment of military equipment to the conflict zone. Under The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements signed by the Contact Group on February 12, 2015, the sides have to withdraw their artillery systems of 100 mm calibre or more to a distance of 50 kilometres apart from each other, multiple launch rocket systems Tornado, Uragan and Smerch to a distance of 70 kilometres and Tactical Missile Systems Tochka to a distance of 140 kilometres. The follow-up to the Minsk Agreements signed in September provides for the parties’ withdrawal of their artillery systems of a calibre less than 100 mm, as well as tanks and mortars. *ot
