Donetsk, Nov 4 – DAN. The war in Donbass is the only chance for Ukrainian president Petr Poroshenko to stay in power, DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko said speaking at Direct Talk TV show.
"Poroshenko and Kiev junta need war, not peace as the conflict is the only way for them to stay in power. To prevent Ukrainian to go to Maidan they need an ongoing war. Poroshenko lacks control over nationalistic squads, he doesn't know what to do with them, if they are back to Kiev they will destroy him. That's why he needs Donbass war", Zakharchenko said.
He added that from Oct. 21 to Nov. 3 the enemy's units carried out intense shelling of DPR territory with mortars, artillery, tank guns and small arms.
DPR Head talks today to about a hundred of the Republic's citizens in Shakhtar Plaza on the 2nd anniversary of his inauguration.
