Donetsk, May 24 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic forces killed a group of five Ukrainian saboteurs trying to enter the Republic west of Donetsk, the DPR Operations Command said on Thursday.
“Yesterday, at 22:00, a group of five inept saboteurs tried to steal into the Republic’s territory to carry out a bloody provocation against civilians. The gunmen advanced from Ukrainian forces’ positions north of Maryinka (west of the DPR capital - eds Donetsk News Agency) towards Donetsk’s Petrovskiy district,” it said.
The saboteurs were spotted in time and destroyed. Ukrainian forces managed to retrieve the body of the Ukrainian serviceman who had carried communication devices, recording equipment, weapons, ammunition, civilian clothes and DPR army unit insignias.
“Several DPR servicemen have been recommended for state decorations for their courageous and decisive actions to destroy the group of terrorists,” a DPR Operations Command officer said.*jk
