Donetsk, Feb 9 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Prosecutor General’s Office opened criminal proceedings against the Ukrainian commanders complicit in the shelling of Donetsk and Gorlovka on April 6 and 8.
“The DPR PGO is investigating criminal cases against two Ukrainian army commanders who are responsible for the consequences of crimes committed by Ukrainian servicemen,” the PGO reported.
The crimes are covered by Article 299 of the DPR Criminal Code (act of terror); the suspects are 24th and 30th Separate Mechanised Brigades commanders Valery Gudz and Ivan Garaz, prosecutors said.
The investigators said 24th Brigade servicemen shelled Donetsk’s Petrovskiy districdt and Staromikhailovka neighbourhood on April 6 and 8, while 30th Brigade delivered a strike at Gorlovka on April 8.
Three DPR civilians were wounded in shelling by Ukrainian forces over the past three days.*jk
